A beautiful, new, handcrafted drum kit, just made by two of my longtime friends, Roberto Villani (RV Drums) and Carlo Goberti, two craftsmen with many years of experience, active in the Rome area.
This Jazz set consists of an 18"x14" bass drum, 12"x8" tom, 14"x14" floor toms, 7-ply American cherry shells with maple edge reinforcements, clear lacquer on the outside and natural matte on the inside.
The tension lugs are Pearl CL100 for the tom and floor tom and CL250 for the bass drum; they cost a fortune now, try looking around... The rail consolette on the bass drum, the tom holder on the 12" and the elegant bass drum legs attached to the hoop are from DW. Triple-flanged hoops on the toms and floor toms are 2,3 mm. Note that the rail consolette has been mounted in the center of the bass drum, so that even left-handed drummers can position the tom to their own comfort without having to modify anything; in this regard, the tom has a double badge, so it is visible in any position.
No expense was spared on this instrument; the shells are magnificently crafted, free from any imperfections. The sound is warm, full-bodied, very dynamic, and well-defined. A truly high-quality drum kit at the price of a Chinese-made instrument (with all due respect...). For connoisseurs.
