PEARL G914P Free Floating snare drum, 1990s.
PEARL G914P Free Floating snare drum, 1990s.
Used snare drum in excellent condition, without any defects. 14”x3.5”, maple shell.
More than 30 years ago Pearl introduced Free Floating snare drums, with the intent of creating drums with a shell free of hardware, to increase vibration and sound projection.
The interesting factor is that the shells can be interchangeable; in fact, Pearl produced them in brass, steel and aluminum as an alternative to maple.
They are still in the catalogue, and are offered in mahogany, maple, birch, aluminium, steel, copper and brass.
The model in our shop is the G914P, now called FTMM1435. Die cast hoops, ten lugs, snare strainer with adjustment at both ends.
It has a clear and penetrating tone, very defined, with a present rim shot and a generous volume.
