14"x5" snare drum in excellent condition and completely original except for the heads and the snare wires; Pioneer model was introduced in 1928, but the version you see above was available from 1960 until 1974.
It was a successful student line, a leader in the low priced field; it has the same wood shell of the best known Jazz Festival: 3-ply Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany with Maple reinforcing hoops. The inside of the shell was painted with white Resacote, and the Keystone badge has 92758 serial number. The "baseball bat" tone muffler with red felt is present and works correctly.
This 1964 Black-Gold Duco has a woody, open and powerful sound, with plenty of harmonics; a versatile and unexpensive Ludwig snare drum.
