Beautiful used snare drum, in excellent condition; 14"x5.1/4".

Sky Blue Pearl finish, chrome over brass triple flange hoops, P4066 internal damper, P83 tailpiece strainer and WFL branded butt ends. The snare wires are still the original one with plastic ends.

Three-ply mahogany/poplar/mahogany shell with maple reinforcements, Resacote white paint on which the date OCT 27 1960 is still legible.

The transition badge takes us back to 1959/60, when the Ludwig family reacquired their brand from CG Conn; it is interesting to consider that today Conn, together with Selmer, is the current owner of the Ludwig brand. Historical cycles repeat themselves.

The Jazz Festival is one of the most sought-after Ludwig snare drums; it first appeared in 1956 under the name Barrett Deems, and was later renamed Jazz Festival in 1960. It went out of production in 1970, but is in fact present in the current Ludwig production in the Legacy series.

The warm, dark and full-bodied tone of this drum makes it suitable for many musical genres, as well as being a sure addition to a nice drum collection.
