And this very Downbeat set was the first and second used by the Beatles drummer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI'll start by pointing out the very few flaws of this drum kit: there are two holes in the lower part of the bass drum, judging by the spacing they seem to be for a bass drum and floor tom leg bracket, but in that position... Who knows...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe note that the keystone badge on the bass drum is a bit worn, probably abraded during polishing of the drum, and the grommet (certainly damaged) has been replaced with a generic one. The current situation can be clearly seen in the photos; it will be quite easy to reinstall a grommet identical to the original, we leave the choice to the future owner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinally, I would like to point out two small missing portions of wrap in the inlay of a bass drum hoop, and a couple of original but currently produced P1216D lugs. Here too, it will be very easy to find a couple of vintage spare parts, many can be found around the web.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat said, there's little left to add. A set like this, original, with 57 years of music behind it and in this beautiful Black Oyster finish speaks for itself.
